The Backcountry Wildman is designed to challenge you physically and mentally. This race will take you to some of the most unique areas of Western Montana. It will give you the opportunity to see wildlife and see the beauty of Libby and the surrounding Cabinet Mountains! (See poster) This event will start out on August 8, 2008 at Fireman’s Park which is located right next to the Chamber of Commerce in Libby. (See map of area) Registration will begin at 5:00 P.M and run to about 9:00 P.M. During this time St. John's Lutheran Hospital will be putting on a Carbo Feed at the Fireman’s Park. This will run from 5:00-7:00 P.M. We will also be answering some questions concerning the race and going over some instructions. There will be another opportunity to register on August 9, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 A.M. at the Search and Rescue Barn located at 301 City Service Road. There will be a mandatory meeting for all racers at 19:00, at Fireman's Park, the night before the race. If you are unable to attend this meeting you must report to Fireman's Park at 06:00 the morning of the race regardless of the category entered. There will be a short awards ceremony at Fireman's Park at 19:00 after the race. If you have any questions or concerns please send us an email or call.
